Vex 8 is the latest entry in the stickman parkour series, a precision platformer where you run a black stick figure through gauntlets of spikes, saws, and disappearing platforms. There's no combat and barely any story — the whole game is about clearing a level in one clean run without touching anything sharp.
Every level is built to kill you the first few times through. You'll die constantly, usually with the same over-the-top ragdoll flop the series is known for, and the point is to learn the layout: where the saw blade swings, when the platform drops, how far the gap really is. Checkpoints save your progress mid-level, so a death only costs you the section since your last one.
Controls
- Move: Arrow keys or A/D
- Jump: Up arrow or W
- Slide / duck: Down arrow or S
- Restart: R, to reset to your last checkpoint
Tips
- Die on purpose the first time through a new trap — watching how it kills you tells you its timing better than trying to guess from a distance.
- Don't jump early. Most Vex deaths come from committing before you've actually seen the full hazard, not from bad reflexes.
- Touch every checkpoint you pass. They only activate when you cross them, and skipping one by accident means a much longer reset if you die.
It's built for players who like trial-and-error platforming and don't mind dying dozens of times to clear a level cleanly once.
