Jumping Shell tests your spatial reasoning by letting your character detach from their protective outer layer. Created by Robert Alvarez, this puzzle-platformer turns your shell into a multi-purpose tool. You will need to leave it behind to squeeze through narrow gaps, drop it on pressure plates to keep doors open, or use it as a makeshift platform to reach higher areas. Each level is a single-screen room packed with traps and switches. The difficulty scales up quickly when later stages introduce multiple nested layers, forcing you to plan your movements carefully. Getting separated from your shell usually means failing the puzzle, so you must always figure out how to reunite with it before exiting the stage.
Controls
- Left/Right Arrows or A/D: Move
- Up Arrow or W: Jump / Exit shell
- R: Restart level
Tips
- Mid-air boost: Ejecting from your shell while jumping gives you a critical height boost to clear large gaps.
- Track your layers: When juggling multiple shells, pay attention to where you left each one, as you will need them all to finish the level.
