About Plant vs Zombies

Plants vs. Zombies is a classic tower defense game where you protect your suburban home from a comedic horde of undead invaders. By planting a variety of specialized flora in your front yard, you create a living defense line. Each plant has distinct abilities, from the rapid-fire Peashooter to the explosive Cherry Bomb, requiring you to carefully manage your sun resources and adapt your strategy as the zombie threat escalates.

A typical round starts slowly, giving you time to build an economy of Sunflowers. As the wave progresses, you will face zombies with traffic cones on their heads, pole-vaulting zombies, and heavily armored football players. The grid-based lawn means you have to defend each lane individually, balancing your offensive and defensive plants to ensure no zombie reaches your front door.

Controls

  • Mouse: Click to collect sun, select plants from your seed packets, and place them on the lawn grid.
  • Shovel: Click the shovel at the top of the screen, then click a plant to dig it up and free the space.

Tips

  • Prioritize Sunflowers: Always dedicate your back one or two columns entirely to Sunflowers. A strong economy in the early game makes the final wave much easier to survive.
  • Use Wall-nuts wisely: Place defensive Wall-nuts in lanes where heavy zombie traffic is expected, buying your offensive plants more time to deal damage.
  • Save instant-kills for emergencies: Keep a Cherry Bomb or Squash ready in your seed packet to deal with sudden, overwhelming threats or strong variants like the Buckethead Zombie.

This original version of the PopCap classic is perfect for players who enjoy thoughtful, methodical strategy wrapped in a charming and lighthearted presentation.

Plant vs Zombies FAQ

How do I get more sun in Plants vs. Zombies?
You get sun by planting Sunflowers, which periodically generate sun tokens. Sun also falls naturally from the sky during daytime levels. Click the tokens to collect them.
What is the best way to deal with Buckethead Zombies?
Buckethead Zombies are highly resilient to normal attacks. Use a Magnet-shroom to steal their bucket, or use instant-kill plants like the Squash or Cherry Bomb.
Can I dig up a plant after placing it?
Yes, you can click the shovel icon at the top of the screen and then click on a plant to remove it, which frees up the tile for a different plant.
