Block Blast is a classic 8x8 grid puzzle where players drag and drop block shapes to clear lines and score points. It plays like a mix of Tetris and Sudoku but without the pressure of a ticking clock or falling pieces. You are dealt three randomly generated shapes at the bottom of the screen, and you have to place all three onto the board before a new set appears.
The twist is that pieces cannot be rotated, making spatial awareness crucial. Filling a complete vertical or horizontal line clears those blocks from the board, freeing up space. The real points are earned by setting up massive combo clears or chaining together consecutive line wipes.
Controls
Use your mouse or touch screen to play. Simply click and drag a block from the bottom tray onto any empty space on the grid, then let go to drop it.
Tips
- Build combos: Try to position blocks so that one placement clears two or more lines at once. This drastically increases your score.
- Space for the big blocks: Always leave a 3x3 empty area on the board. The 9-block square is the hardest shape to place, and getting it when the board is too cluttered is an instant game over.
- Plan your moves: Since there is no time limit, look at all three pieces before making your first move. Figuring out how they fit together beforehand prevents you from creating dead zones.
