2048 Game

2048 is a legendary sliding tile puzzle where you combine matching numbers on a 4x4 grid to reach the elusive 2048 tile. Created by Gabriele Cirulli, this deceptively simple math-based game has you shifting the entire board at once, forcing every tile to slide as far as it can until it hits a wall or another tile.

Each time you move, a new 2 or 4 spawns in an empty spot. When two identical numbers collide, they merge into their sum. What starts as an easy exercise in doubling numbers quickly becomes a tense spatial puzzle as the board fills up and your room to maneuver shrinks.

Controls

• Arrow Keys: Slide all tiles up, down, left, or right
• Swipe: Move tiles on mobile or touch devices

Tips

• Pick a corner: The most reliable strategy is keeping your highest-value tile locked in one corner (like the bottom right) and building your next highest numbers adjacent to it.
• Avoid the opposite direction: If your highest tile is in the bottom right, never swipe up or left unless you have absolutely no moves, as it will dislodge your anchor.
• Build snake chains: Try to arrange your tiles in descending order leading into your highest tile, allowing them to cascade naturally as they merge.
