Send the notice

Email the details below to the address on the contact page with "DMCA" in the subject line. A notice that arrives complete is usually actioned the same day; one that is missing the URL or the ownership statement has to go back to you first, which costs everyone a round trip.

If you are the rights holder and simply want a game gone, say so plainly — we would rather remove a title than argue about it.

What a valid notice contains

  • Your full legal name and contact details
  • Identification of the work you say is infringed
  • The exact Y2 URL of every page involved, not just the site name
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised
  • A statement that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them, made under penalty of perjury
  • Your signature, physical or electronic

What happens next

The page comes down or the embed is disabled while the claim is reviewed. Because these games sit on third-party hosts, removal here stops it being served on Y2 — it does not remove the build from wherever it is hosted, and you may want to send a notice there too.

If material was taken down and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter notice with your contact details, identification of what was removed, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was an error. Content may be restored where that is legally appropriate.

Repeat claims

Claims are tracked against the source a game came from, not just the single page. A source that draws repeated credible notices is dropped from the catalogue entirely, which is usually a faster and more permanent fix than removing one title at a time.
