Red Ball 4 is a physics-based platformer where you roll a bouncy red ball through hillside, cave and factory levels while a horde of angry squares tries to flatten the world into their own shape. Momentum is the whole game: you build up speed on slopes, launch off ramps, and time jumps to land squarely on spikes, saws and the squares themselves rather than crash into them.
Each of the five episodes ramps up the hazards, from simple rolling hills to crushers, conveyor belts and swinging platforms, and ends with a boss square guarding the way to the next area. Along the way you can grab stars tucked into tricky corners of a level, which reward the runs where you actually explore instead of sprinting for the exit.
Controls
- Left / Right arrow keys (or A / D) — roll the ball
- Up arrow or Space — jump
Tips
- Speed carries momentum into jumps, so get a short run-up before a big gap instead of jumping from a standstill.
- Squares die when you land on top of them, but they'll flatten you on contact from the side — approach from above whenever you can.
- If a jump feels short, let go of the direction key mid-air for a second to fall a bit straighter onto narrow platforms.
It's a good pick for short sessions — a level takes a couple of minutes, and losing a life just means rolling back in for another attempt rather than starting the whole episode over.
