Cat Trap Game

Cat Trap is a minimal yet highly addictive puzzle game that challenges your logical thinking and foresight. Set on a hexagonal grid, your task is to completely surround a clever cat before it manages to slip off the edge of the board. Each move you make allows you to block one hexagon, but it also prompts the cat to take a step toward freedom. A single wrong placement can clear a path for the cat to escape, making every click crucial.

The game starts with a randomized layout of already-blocked tiles, meaning no two rounds are identical. The pace is entirely up to you, allowing you to pause, analyze the board, and plan your moves multiple turns in advance. It is a satisfying mental exercise that is easy to pick up but requires careful planning to consistently win.

Controls

Playing Cat Trap is simple and only requires your mouse or touch screen:

• Left-Click / Tap: Click or tap on any light-colored hexagon to place a dark barrier and block the cat's path.

Tips to Trap the Cat

• Build a wide perimeter: Do not place barriers directly next to the cat at the start. It will easily step around them. Instead, place blocks further away to set up a larger boundary that you can tighten later.
• Block the open sides first: Look at the board's starting layout and identify which directions have the fewest pre-placed blocks. Block these vulnerable areas first.
• Funnel the cat: Try to guide the cat towards corners or existing clusters of blocks to limit its movement options.
