Cannon Basketball combines the precision of a physics puzzle with the simple satisfaction of shooting hoops. Instead of controlling a player on the court, you operate a fixed cannon loaded with basketballs. Your objective is to launch the balls into a basketball hoop, navigating a series of increasingly complex environments filled with wooden barriers, bouncing pads, and triggers that you must activate to open the path to the net.
A typical level challenge is all about finding the perfect trajectory and speed. You pull back on the cannon to adjust your firing power and rotate it to find the correct angle. Success requires patience and trial-and-error as you watch how each basketball bounces off the walls or reacts to the level's obstacles. Collecting the three stars scattered across each stage adds an extra layer of difficulty, forcing you to think about how to use gravity and rebound angles to hit distant targets before finally scoring.
Controls
- Aiming: Move the mouse cursor (on PC) or drag your finger on the screen (on mobile) to adjust the cannon's angle.
- Power Adjustment: Move the cursor further away from the cannon to increase the launch force, or closer to decrease it.
- Shooting: Click the left mouse button (on PC) or release your finger (on mobile) to fire a basketball.
- Restart Level: Press R on your keyboard to instantly restart the current stage.
- Pause Game: Press P on your keyboard to pause.
Tips
- Use the Guideline: Pay close attention to the dashed aiming line extending from the cannon barrel. While it doesn't show the entire flight path, it provides a crucial initial trajectory for your shots.
- Rebound Off Walls: Don't always aim directly for the hoop. Many stages are designed so that the only viable entry path requires bouncing the ball off the ceiling or side walls.
- Collect Stars First: In levels where the basket is blocked by a gate, focus on launching balls at the stars and switches first. Once the obstacles are cleared, you can focus on the final shot into the hoop.
- Minimize Your Shots: To earn a perfect three-star rating on a level, try to complete it in as few shots as possible. Speed is less important than accuracy and planning.
This game is a great fit for players who enjoy physics-based puzzles like Angry Birds but want a sporting twist. It runs directly in your web browser with no downloads or installation required.
