2 Player Tag strips down the classic playground game to its pure, competitive essence on a single screen. Two players share a keyboard in a frantic game of cat-and-mouse across obstacle-filled arenas. One player is "it" and must chase the ; if you're caught, the roles instantly reverse. A round only lasts a few seconds to a minute, forcing both players into constant, aggressive movement and split-second dodging.
The shared-screen setup keeps the tension high since every jump, juke, and mistake is visible to both players. The maps feature platforms and hazards that demand careful jumping, meaning you can't just run in a straight line. Outsmarting your opponent requires using the terrain to break their line of sight or baiting them into a bad jump.
Controls
- Player 1: Use W, A, S, D to move and Space or Shift to jump or dash.
- Player 2: Use Arrow Keys to move and Enter or Right Shift to jump or dash.
Tips
- As the runner, stay off the ground as much as possible. Vertical movement is much harder to predict than flat running.
- If you're the chaser, try to cut off your opponent's escape routes rather than following directly in their footsteps.
- Save your dash for when you truly need it to make a desperate leap or close a tight gap.
