About Vex 4

Vex 4 is a stickman precision platformer where one wrong step means instant death and an instant restart. You run, jump, wall-jump, slide, and swim through short, brutal obstacle courses of spikes, saws, and moving platforms, all controlled from a central hub that connects the game's acts.

What sets Vex 4 apart from the earlier games in the series is its scale: ten acts, each with its own hazards and movement tricks, plus an Insanity mode built from levels the community submitted. Death counters track every restart, and the goal is less about exploration than about learning a course's rhythm well enough to run it clean.

Controls

  • Arrow keys or WASD to move and crouch
  • Up arrow or W to jump — hold it for extra height
  • Down arrow or S to slide or climb down
  • Spacebar to restart instantly from the last checkpoint

Tips

  • Wall jumps only connect if you press jump right as you touch the wall, not before or after — timing matters more than positioning.
  • Restarting with spacebar is faster than waiting to die again, so use it the moment you know a jump is missed.
  • Trophies usually sit off the main path, so a first clean run through an act is a good time to spot them before going back for them.

If you liked the earlier Vex games, this is the same idea taken further — more acts, tighter platforming, and Insanity mode once you've cleared the main game.

Vex 4 FAQ

What are the controls in Vex 4?
Arrow keys or WASD move and crouch, up arrow or W jumps, down arrow or S slides or climbs down, and spacebar instantly restarts from the last checkpoint.
What is Insanity mode in Vex 4?
A separate mode built from community-submitted levels, generally much harder than the game's ten main acts.
Does Vex 4 track how many times you've died?
Yes. Each act counts your deaths, since the goal is a clean run rather than just reaching the exit eventually.
