Paper.io 2 drops you onto a shared map as a small colored square with one job: claim more ground than everyone else. Leave your starting patch and you trail a line behind you across the open white space. Loop back into territory you already own and everything you enclosed turns your color, growing your empire a little at a time.
The danger is that trail. While you're out cutting a new shape, anyone who touches your line ends your run instantly — and you can do the same to them. Slicing through a rival's tail while they're away from their own base wipes out their entire territory in one move, which is usually the fastest way to climb from smallest player to biggest on the board.
Controls
- WASD or Arrow Keys — steer your square
- Mouse — move to steer instead of using the keyboard
Tips
- Make short trips. A long trail outside your territory gives opponents more chances to cut you off before you get home.
- Watch for players actively expanding — their base is briefly undefended and cutting their trail eliminates their whole claim at once.
- Stay near the edge of your own territory when the map gets crowded; it's a shorter, safer path back.
- Bigger isn't always safer. A sprawling territory has a longer border for rivals to attack.
It's a quick, replayable pick-up-and-play match — rounds reset fast, so losing your whole territory to one bad crossing costs you seconds, not progress.
