Minesweeper is the definitive puzzle game of logic and deduction. Without a clock to race against, you are left alone with a grid of hidden dangers, relying entirely on the numbers revealed to safely clear the board. It is a slow, methodical process of isolating safe zones and pinpointing exactly where the explosives lie.
A typical session quickly turns into a mental workout. What begins with a few random clicks opens up into a cascade of safe spaces, presenting a web of interconnected numbers. Each digit dictates the number of adjacent mines, demanding careful calculation before your next move. One wrong click ends it all, making every decision feel crucial.
Controls
- Left-Click: Reveal a square. (Click a safe spot to continue, click a mine and it's game over).
- Right-Click: Place a flag to mark a suspected mine.
- Middle-Click (or Left+Right Click): If a number is satisfied by surrounding flags, use this to instantly clear all adjacent squares.
Tips
- Look for corners: A '1' on an outer corner can only mean the single adjacent hidden square is a mine.
- The 1-2-1 rule: When you see a 1-2-1 number pattern along a straight wall of blocks, the two '1's always have mines next to them.
- Save guesses for last: Sometimes you will be forced into a 50/50 choice. Leave these until the rest of the board is completely clear.
