About Frogger

Frogger keeps the idea that made Konami's original 1981 arcade cabinet a classic: hop your frog up through a lane of speeding cars and trucks, then keep going across a river by jumping between logs and turtles without ever landing in the water. Every life is really one long puzzle in timing — wait too long and impatient traffic keeps coming, move too fast and you jump straight into a car or off the edge of a log.

The goal is to get frogs safely into the empty home slots at the top of the screen, one hop at a time in any of four directions. Miss a jump, get hit, or run out of time and you lose that life and start the crossing over.

Controls

  • Arrow keys (or WASD) move the frog one square at a time: up, down, left, and right.

Tips

  • Don't rush the road — wait for a gap that lets you take two or three hops in a row rather than darting between single cars.
  • On the river, jump onto the middle of a log or turtle's back, not the edge, so a small delay doesn't tip you into the water.
  • Watch which way each row of logs or turtles is drifting before you land on it — it carries you along with it, for better or worse.

It's a short, replayable classic that rewards patience and pattern-reading more than fast reflexes alone.

Frogger FAQ

What are the controls?
Arrow keys or WASD move the frog one square at a time in any of the four directions — there's no diagonal movement.
What happens if I land in the water?
You lose that life immediately unless you're standing on a log or turtle's back, so always keep track of what you're on.
Do the logs and turtles move?
Yes — each row drifts left or right at its own speed and carries you along with it, so you need to keep adjusting your position, not just your timing.
Is this the original 1981 Frogger?
It's a browser build of the same road-and-river concept Konami's original arcade game introduced, playable free with no download.
