Flipside is a gravity-flipping motorbike racer from Nitrome. You take on a futuristic track against rival riders, and the moment you build up enough speed, your bike peels off the road and keeps racing along the ceiling above it. Reading when to flip, and picking the shortest line between floor and ceiling sections, is what separates a clean lap from a last-place finish.

There are 15 tracks to work through, each with its own layout of jumps, tight corners and flip zones. The races are short and replayable, so a bad start on one lap is never far from a redo, and getting a feel for a track's flip points is most of the challenge.

Controls

A and D, or the left and right arrow keys, steer the bike. Space or the up arrow key jumps.

Tips

• Hold your speed into a flip zone — too slow and you won't make the transition to the ceiling.
• Use jumps to cut corners on tracks where the road doubles back on itself.
• Learn each track's flip points before pushing for first place; racing blind costs more time than it saves.

Flipside plays best in short bursts — a race or two at a time — and suits anyone who likes arcade racers with a gimmick that actually changes how you play, not just how it looks. It also supports local two-player, so it's worth pulling up a second controller if a friend's around.
