About Cut The Rope Magic

Cut the Rope: Magic is ZeptoLab's third mainline entry in the Cut the Rope series, and it hands Om Nom a spellbook instead of just leaving him waiting under a rope. Cutting ropes to drop candy into his mouth is still the whole point, but he can now shift into different magical forms mid-level, and each form changes what's actually possible on screen.

Across 160+ levels the game rotates through six transformations: a Bird form for flying above spikes and traps, a tiny Baby form for squeezing through gaps regular Om Nom can't fit, a Fish form for diving underwater after candy, a Mouse form for sniffing out hidden sweets, a Spirit form that passes through hazards, and a Dragon form whose sneeze blows obstacles out of the way. Boss levels chain several of these together, so a level is often as much about reading the setup as it is about landing the cut.

Controls

Click and drag, or swipe on a touchscreen, across a rope to cut it. Tap or click magic elements and transformation triggers to use Om Nom's current form when a level calls for it.

Tips

  • Look at the whole layout before cutting anything — most levels have one correct order, and an early cut can strand a piece of candy out of reach.
  • Go for all three stars per level, not just a clear — the series has always tied its bonus content to a perfect score, not a finished one.
  • Check which transformation is active before you act. A move that works in Bird form can fail outright in Baby or Fish form.

It suits short sessions well — most levels run quick, but the transformation puzzles reward a few seconds of looking before you touch anything.

Cut The Rope Magic FAQ

What are the transformation forms in Cut the Rope: Magic?
Om Nom can shift into six forms as you progress: Bird (flies over hazards), Baby (squeezes through small gaps), Fish (dives underwater), Mouse (sniffs out hidden candy), Spirit (passes through obstacles), and Dragon (sneezes obstacles out of the way).
How do you cut the ropes?
Click and drag across a rope with the mouse, or swipe across it on a touchscreen, to sever it and drop the candy toward Om Nom.
Does Cut the Rope: Magic work on mobile?
Yes. It runs in the browser on both desktop and mobile, using tap and swipe controls on touchscreens instead of mouse clicks and drags.
Do I need to collect all three stars per level?
Not to finish a level, but the series has always used the three stars per level to unlock bonus content, so a full clear needs all of them, not just a completed level.
