Cats Love Cake 2 Game

Cats Love Cake 2 is a bounce-and-platform skill game from DoubleDutch Games, the sequel to their original Cats Love Cake. You control a bouncy cat that hops forward on its own, and your job is to time each leap across a run of platforms, gaps and spike traps until it reaches the cake waiting at the end of the level.

Each level is short, so a session is mostly about rhythm: nudge left or right mid-air to land safely, then line up the next jump before you've even finished the last one. Miss a landing and the level restarts, but the game does something most bounce games skip — fail a stage a few times in a row and it shows you the ideal route through it, turning a frustrating stretch into a quick lesson instead of a wall.

Controls

Move with the Left and Right arrow keys. The same control scheme is also shown on screen when a level loads.

Tips

• Let a tough level beat you on purpose a couple of times — the built-in route preview only appears after a few failed attempts, and it's the fastest way to learn a tricky section.
• Short, deliberate taps of the arrow key land more precisely than holding it down, especially near spikes.
• Clearing levels unlocks new playable animal characters, so working through the run pays off in more than just reaching the cake.

It runs in the browser on desktop, phone or tablet with nothing to install, and its short levels make it just as easy to pick up for a few minutes as to play in a longer streak.
