Calamari drops two squids into a small, cluttered room and asks a simple question: who can rack up the most coins before getting crushed? Blocks fill the arena and shift into new patterns every few seconds, and the only way through is to shoot them apart before they trap you underneath.
It's built as a couch-competitive game first — pull up a second player and share the keyboard. Coins spill out as blocks break, so speed and aim matter more than exploration: clear a path, grab what you can, and stay alert for the next wave of blocks sliding into place.
Controls
- Player 1 (red squid): Left/Right arrow keys to move, Up arrow to jump, Spacebar to shoot
- Player 2 (green squid): A/D to move, W to jump, Q to shoot
Tips
- Shoot before you move into a gap — clearing a block from a distance is safer than jumping in blind.
- Watch for the block with a blue center. Destroying it grants an extra life instead of just coins.
- You only get one life per round, so once the board gets crowded, prioritize staying alive over chasing every coin.
Calamari suits a quick two-player session more than solo play — grab a second player and see who survives the longest wave.
