About Age of War 2

Age of War 2 is the sequel to Louissi's original Age of War, a mix of tower defense and real-time strategy where you build up a civilization on one side of the screen while an AI opponent does the same on the . Kill enemy units for gold, spend it on your own troops and turrets, and push a slow tug-of-war line toward the enemy base until it falls before yours does.

What makes a match escalate is the evolution system: earn enough gold and you can advance to the next age, swapping your whole roster for stronger units, fresh turrets, and a new special attack. The game moves through seven ages in total, starting at the Stone Age with clubmen and dinosaurs, running through two ages exclusive to this sequel (Spartan and Egyptian), then Medieval, Renaissance, Modern, and finally Future, where lasers and mechs replace rocks and spears.

Controls

Mouse only. Click a unit icon to send it toward the enemy base, click an open turret slot to build or upgrade defenses, and click your special attack icon once it's charged.

Tips

  • Don't evolve the instant you can afford it — your current-age defenses can crumble against an opponent who hasn't upgraded yet, so make sure your base can hold before you switch.
  • Save your special attack for a large incoming wave, or fire it right as the enemy is about to evolve, since it hits hardest against a full screen of units.
  • Upgrade turrets you already have before adding new ones — turrets from an earlier age lose value fast once both sides evolve past it.
  • Keep a steady mix of cheap frontline units and stronger units behind them rather than saving gold for one big push; a constant stream keeps pressure on the enemy's economy too.

It's a good fit if you liked the original Age of War or enjoy classic browser-era base-defense strategy games you can finish in a single sitting.
