Unpuzzle is a clever, minimalist puzzle game that flips the traditional jigsaw formula on its head. It runs directly in your web browser with nothing to install, offering a quick and seamless way to challenge your logic. Instead of putting pieces together, your objective is to carefully disassemble a fully completed jigsaw puzzle. To clear the board, you must click or tap and drag interlocking pieces outward. However, you can only pull a piece free if it has at least one open side that is not blocked by another tile.
Developed by Kek Games, Unpuzzle provides a relaxing, brain-teasing experience with no timers or penalties. As you advance through its increasingly complex levels, the game introduces fresh mechanics to keep your puzzle-solving sharp. You will encounter tiles marked with arrows that can only slide in a single direction, numbered tiles that require a set number of pieces to be removed first, and portals that teleport pieces across the board.
Controls
The controls are simple and intuitive on both desktop and mobile devices:
- Desktop/Laptop: Click and drag a puzzle piece with your mouse cursor to slide it away from the grid.
- Mobile/Tablet: Tap and drag a piece with your finger to slide it off the board.
Tips
- Start from the outside: Always look at the outer edges of the grid first. Since pieces must be pulled outward, the outermost tiles with at least one free edge are the only ones you can move initially.
- Count your moves for number tiles: When you see a tile with a number, remember that it will only become unlocked after you have removed exactly that many pieces from the board. Plan your order of operations around these counts.
- Check the arrow directions: Arrow tiles are restricted to moving in one specific direction. If an arrow points toward another piece, you must clear the path in front of it before that arrow tile can be dragged away.
