Midnight Drive is a 3D arcade driving game built with the PlayCanvas engine, set on neon-soaked city streets at night. You steer one of several unlockable cars down open roads and highway ramps from a low chase camera, through a synthwave world of pink and blue neon signs and skyscrapers.
While you drive you collect gems scattered along the route and pass through lit checkpoint arches against the clock. Clip another vehicle or the scenery hard enough and your car crashes, ending the run. Gems banked from a run go toward unlocking new cars and color patterns back in the garage, and different cars carry their own speed, acceleration and handling stats.
Controls
Arrow keys to steer, accelerate and brake on desktop. The game also runs with touch controls, so tapping and swiping works the same way on a phone or tablet.
Tips
- Watch the road ahead for the checkpoint arches — missing one costs valuable time.
- Ease off before sharp turns; hitting scenery or another car at speed ends the run.
- Bank gems from a good run to unlock a faster or better-handling car rather than sticking with the default.
It suits a quick arcade-driving session where the point is a stylish night drive rather than a full racing simulation, and it runs entirely in the browser with nothing to install.
