About Madness Project Nexus

Madness Project Nexus is a side-scrolling run-and-gun brawler built around the Madness Combat web series, developed by Krinkels (Matt Jolly) with programming by Michael Swain and first released in 2012.

You shoot, stab, and punch your way through waves of Nexus agents, looting whatever weapon a downed enemy drops the moment your own gun runs dry. Story mode moves you through scripted missions across a handful of playable characters as you break captured agents out of the Nexus facility, while Arena mode drops the story for straight survival: gear up a fighter and see how many escalating waves you can outlast.

Controls

  • WASD - move
  • Mouse - aim
  • Left-click - attack
  • Spacebar - interact

Tips

  • Ammo runs out fast - grab whatever weapon a downed enemy drops rather than clicking on an empty gun.
  • Melee attacks cost nothing, so switch to fists or a blade the moment you're out of bullets.
  • In Arena mode, spend a minute on your loadout before diving in - the waves only get harder from there.

It's a good fit if you grew up on Madness Combat or old browser run-and-gun games and want fast, violent combat with nothing to install - it plays straight in the browser.
