J-J-Jump is a fast-paced, retro-inspired puzzle platformer developed by Nitrome. Originally designed as a tiny "icon" game, it puts you in control of a miniature hero attempting to escape a rapidly rising flood of water. Your goal in each level is simple yet nerve-wracking: climb to the top of the vertical stage and reach the safety of the checkered flag before the water level catches up to you.

What sets J-J-Jump apart from traditional platformers is its strict limitation on your jumping ability. You begin each level with a small stockpile of jumps, tracked at the bottom of the screen. Because every leap drains your supply, you cannot simply button-mash your way to the top. Instead, you must carefully calculate your route, using springboards that don't consume jumps, collecting glowing orbs to replenish your count, and hitting checkpoints to secure your progress.

Tips

• Conserve Your Jumps: Always plan your route beforehand. Try to walk onto higher platforms when possible instead of jumping, and save your jumps for gaps or vertical climbs that cannot be scaled otherwise.
• Utilize Springboards: Jumping off a springboard or bouncy pad does not consume your jump stockpile. Use them as free vertical boosts whenever they are available.
• Collect Orbs Wisely: Do not rush to collect flashing jump orbs if your stockpile is already full (a maximum of 5 jumps). Only grab them when you have room to replenish your count.
• Avoid Enemy Hazards: Later levels introduce moving obstacles and enemies. Take a brief moment to observe their patterns, as getting hit or knocked back can waste precious seconds and allow the rising water to swallow you.
