Deepest Sword is a unique physics-based platformer where your weapon is both your greatest tool and your biggest obstacle. You play as a knight on a quest to slay a dragon, but every time you reach the beast, you discover your sword simply isn't long enough to reach its heart. With each failure, you are given a longer, heavier sword, and you must navigate the entire dungeon all over again with this new, unwieldy blade.
You cannot jump in this game. Instead, you must use the weight and leverage of your sword to vault over gaps, climb ledges, and push yourself through tight corridors. As your sword grows to absurd lengths, the dungeon geometry that was once easy to bypass becomes a complex physics puzzle that requires careful swinging and positioning.
Controls
- A / D or Left / Right Arrows: Move the knight or rotate the sword (depending on your hand placement)
- R: Restart from the last checkpoint if you get stuck
Tips
- Use the sword to vault: Since you cannot jump normally, plant the tip of your sword into the ground and rotate it to launch your knight over ledges.
- Watch the ceiling: As your sword gets longer, tight corridors become your worst enemy. Always rotate your blade horizontally before entering a small gap.
- Don't rush: The physics can be punishing. Take your time to align your sword perfectly before attempting a difficult vault, or you might end up launching yourself backward.
This clever twist on the platforming genre was originally made for a game jam and delivers a hilarious, surprisingly challenging experience that will test your patience and problem-solving skills.
