Solitaire Reverse flips the classic Klondike formula completely on its head. Instead of the familiar race from Ace to King, you are tasked with building your foundation piles downwards, starting with Kings and ending with Aces. It sounds like a simple twist, but reversing your usual solitaire instincts requires a surprising amount of concentration and a fresh approach to the board.
Every match challenges you to rethink how you clear the tableau. The alternating colors rule remains, but now you build columns upwards. Uncovering hidden cards and managing your stockpile take on a completely different feel when you have to spot ascending sequences rather than descending ones. If you play regular solitaire on autopilot, this version will wake you right up.
How it Works
- Foundations: Must be built downwards by suit, starting with a King and ending with an Ace.
- Tableau: Columns are built upwards in alternating colors (for example, placing a red 5 on top of a black 4).
- Stockpile: Draw from the deck just like standard solitaire to find the cards you need to continue building.
Tips for Winning
- Take your time before making a move. Your brain will naturally look for descending sequences, so double-check every placement.
- Focus on uncovering the face-down cards in the tableau as quickly as possible to give yourself more options.
- Don't blindly move Kings to the foundation as soon as they appear; you might need them to hold ascending tableau columns temporarily.
