Castle Defender Saga is an endless tower-defense game where the enemy comes to you. Instead of building a maze of towers along a path, you post archers, knights, mages, bombermen and summoners along your castle wall and let each wave crash against your line.
Between rounds you spend the gold you earned defending to buy new units or push the ones you already have further up their upgrade ladder. Waves get bigger and tougher the longer you survive, so the real game is deciding what to buy first and which unit to keep leveling instead of spreading gold thin.
Controls
Everything runs on the mouse: click to place a unit on the wall, click a purchase or upgrade button to spend gold between waves, and click a unit mid-battle to trigger its special skill.
Tips
- Mix ranged units like archers and mages with melee ones like knights and bombermen so your line doesn't get overrun the moment an enemy closes the distance.
- Each unit can be upgraded several times over - pushing one or two units several levels up usually beats buying a wide spread of level-one units.
- Save gold for a round or two once waves start scaling up; a well-timed upgrade holds a line that a rushed cheap purchase won't.
It suits short sessions well - a few waves at a time - since there's no level to finish, just how long your castle can hold.
