This is a small, self-contained tribute to Namco's 1984 arcade classic The Tower of Druaga, built by TinyDobbins rather than the original arcade version. You play the knight Gil, moving one screen at a time through short maze floors, hunting for a key and the door it opens while fending off wizards and monsters along the way.
Combat is simple and close-range: face an enemy, kick it, and raise a directional shield to block attacks coming from a specific side rather than dodging around the whole screen. Clear a floor by finding its key, reaching its door, and surviving whatever stands in the way — collect hearts and bonus pickups as you go, and your progress is saved locally in the browser so you can pick up where you left off.
Controls
Arrow keys move Gil around each floor and face him toward enemies to kick and shield.
Tips
- Face an enemy directly before kicking — Gil's attack only lands on foes he's squared up against.
- Raise your shield on the side an attack is coming from rather than trying to outrun it in the small floor layouts.
- Grab hearts when you see them; they're your buffer against the wizards' ranged attacks.
It's a quick, bite-sized way to sample the key-and-door maze loop that made the original famous, without the deep hidden-treasure puzzles of the full arcade game.
